Fractal Explorations (2021)

This group of work is inspired by the creation of new worlds and environments. I find inspiration in the complex habitats and environments that lie unseen underground and underwater, fractal worlds that lure you in with hidden details.

Inside the cryptic visual designs that resemble foliage on a forest floor, or a cluster of mushrooms on the belly of a fallen tree trunk, there might just be a creature hiding. This body of work aims to ignite imagination, and asks viewers to take a closer look and imagine the possibilities of new worlds within the colourful fabrications. There is an uncanny familiarity to classic form and yet the works take on new meanings in their design.

This work also highlights the versatility and unique properties of porcelain, a material that has captured the imaginations of people throughout millennia.
